The Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman is currently in Cyprus at the invitation of the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Lieberman is an aggressive and open supporter of the continuation of the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the criminal notions of "transfer" or ethnic cleansing of Palestinian citizens in Israel.

Lieberman’s visit in Cyprus coincides with the first anniversary of Israel’s assault on Gaza in January 2009, which left more than 1,400 dead, the vast majority of them civilians, including nearly 400 children. Lieberman himself suggested at that time that Israel should consider using nuclear weapons in Gaza!

We, the undersigned organizations, in sympathy with the plight of the Palestinian people regard this visit a disgraceful event and at the same time we protest against the continuing Israel’s aggression against the Palestinian people.

We condemn the totalitarian ideology of the Israeli Foreign Minister and his visit to Cyprus!

We support the legitimated right of the Palestinians for independent State!

We demand the end of the Israeli occupation and siege of Gaza!

To convey this message, we call for a symbolic protest in front of the Israeli embassy, today Thursday 14/1/2010
