Neo-fascism in Europe and Cyprus - historical course, recent developments and challenges

The Anti-Fascist Initiative is organising a day of meetings on Saturday 11th of December 2010 under the general heading Neo-fascism in Europe and Cyprus - historical course, recent developments and challenges.

The event will be held at the Nicosia General Purpose Centre (Polydynamon Kentro) next to Famagusta Gate, between 02.00 pm and 08:00 pm.

In these meetings the emergence and development of the fascist threat in Europe and Cyprus will be examined. Academics, researchers, teachers and politicians will analyse the historical course of the fascist phenomenon, with the aim of exposing its various facets as well as its implications for the challenges facing Cypriot and European society today.

Further to the presentation and analysis of past and present manifestations of fascism, the aim of these meetings is to facilitate a thorough discussion that will arrive at an understanding of the phenomenon and how to better expose and confront it.

Held also at the venue will be a photo exhibition and video projections. Food and drinks will be offered during the break.
